According to Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, 33% of Philly?s seniors have a pet, that?s over 95,000 households. As seniors age, caring for a loved pet becomes more difficult and seniors struggling on fixed incomes too often sacrifice their well-being for their pets. GenPhilly?s Pet-Tastic Happy Hour aims to address these challenges by giving pets and their owners a small gift that has a large impact. Donations benefit Sam's Hope, a program that provides pet food assistance, and a veterinary care program to help financially challenged pet owners.
